Scientific Information Systems

This work discusses a synthesis that blends scientific methods with the broad capabilities of computer database information systems. It should aid anyone who is trying to explain, predict or change the behavour of a complex system involving humans. This blend has been developed from research in the aviation industry, but the principles and methods can be broadly applied to other areas. Since the original work was in the aviation domain, many of the specific examples have aviation content. The scientific issues, however, are universal.
