Violence and the Law (Claremont Symposium on Applied Social Psychology)

The nature of violence, the factors that contribute to violence, and the consequences of violence on victims and communities are investigated in this volume, which focuses on how the United States legal system has dealt with violent crime.

The contributors describe the incidence and prevalence of particular forms of violence and cover a broad range of topics including: child abuse; gun control; violence towards homosexuals; rape survivors; police brutality; battered women; gang violence; and the death penalty.
