📖 Description
In his analysis of Orwell's memorable fable, Richard I. Smyer advances the view that Orwell's concern about the spread of communism and socialism was matched by a concern over England's weakening ties with its agricultural past and a growing estrangement from the pastoral literary tradition. The edition of "Animal Farm" used in this study is the Harcourt Brace 1946 edition. Smyer is an associate professor of English at the University of Arizona.
