Generalized Characteristics of First Order PDEs: Applications in Optimal Control and Differential Games

This book introduces a new notion of singular characteristics of a first-order partial differential equation which provides a new tool for the solution of applied problems in optimal control, differential games and mathematical physics. The presentation also contains the solution of several new game theory problems on manifolds -- the first presentation on games of this type.
