The Log Cabin Wedding

It's been some time since her mam passed away, but Elvirey misses her more than ever during the first harvest without her. So when Pap forms a friendship and an arrangement with the widow Aiken—the family helps her with her harvesting duties, while she helps take care of them and their household—Elviery's not sure she likes the idea of someone trying to replace Mam one bit. But when the widow begins to teach Elvirey how to read, she finds she might have more room in her heart for a new family than she realized possible.
