Comparative Criminal Procedure: History, Processes and Case Studies

This work offers a comparative look at two distinct criminal justice systems by briefly examining the history of each system, analyzing and comparing the functional components and processes that comprise each system, and providing compelling case studies to illustrate these processes in context. First, to establish an overall context, the book will begin at the beginning - analyzing the historical development of the adversarial and inquisitorial systems of justice. After the brief historical introduction, each of the chapters will begin with a roadmap outlining where a particular process fits generally within the overall criminal justice system. Finally, each chapter will offer at least one case study to provide students with a realistic perspective of criminal justice systems.
