Martindale: The Extra Pharmacopoeia

This is a reproduction of the first edition of the book published in 1883, now affectionately known as "Martindale". It is published by Pharmaceutical Press with a new forward to celebrate the 125th anniversary of "Martindale: The Complete Drug Reference".There can be few pharmacists or pharmacy students who do not immediately recognise the name 'Martindale' and associate it with the authoritative drug reference work published by the Pharmaceutical Press, an imprint of RPS Publishing, the publishing organisation of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain. It is an honour bestowed upon very few publications that they are affectionately known solely by the author's name and fewer still can claim to have been continuously published regularly in new editions for over a hundred years.This year, 2008, marks the 125th anniversary of the publication of the first edition of the book that was to become the present day "Martindale: The Complete Drug Reference" and to mark the occasion, the publishers have produced this reproduction of "The Extra Pharmacopoeia" by William Martindale and Wynn Westcott.
