The Mughal Empire and Its Decline: An Interpretation of the Sources of Social Power

This volume addresses two problems relating to the Moghal Empire. It examines the major developments and recent trends in the historiography of the Moghal Empire and the post-Moghal state systems; and secondly, the debate concerns the notional usage of categories in historical analysis with the aim of developing a framework for new formulations of questions. The book aims to integrate the scattered and sometimes unsystematic research of the past 30 years into a theoretical framework, thus allowing better understanding of the Moghal Empire and its decline.
