Thanks to the "Celtic Tiger" Dublin has changed much in the last five years. It has seen an explosion in the number of new facilities for families. Temple Bar has mushroomed and now houses The Ark Children's Centre, the Gallery of Photography, and an outdoor cinema. Smithfield is becoming a centre of activity with the Irish Distillers Museum and Ceol, the hi-tech museum of traditional Irish music. As well as being decentralised the museums and galleries have become much more interesting and interactive. New children friendly restaurants have opened. The canals and riverbanks have been much improved and offer a new experience for children.
