Taft (1889-1953), son of President and Chief Justice William Howard Taft. Taft was the most prominent critic of mid-twentieth-century American liberalism and played a significant role in the development of party politics. This volume spans his early life and career from his school days to his election to the U.S. Senate in 1938.
