This volume is a compilation of twenty-one articles by Dr. Lewis Jones that appeared in Sandlapper: The Magazine of South Carolina between January 1969 and September 1970. Dr. Jones presents a complete, though informal, history of South Carolina for the general reader without getting bogged down in details. The result is the colorful story of South Carolina told in a lively and readable fashion.
