Absurd, Black and Comic Sketches: Ten Duologues and Five Monologues for Drama Students

This collection of fifteen duologues and monologues provides quality scripted material for us in English and Drama, Theatre Studies, Performing Arts, Youth Theatre and drama festivals. The sketches, which offer an equal number of male and female parts, are essentially for performance. The characters have to be created from the lines as stage directions and props are kept to a minimum, which also makes the book suitable for the study of directing as well as acting. The black humour in the sketches makes them entertaining and thought-provoking...a feature which could help to stimulate worthwhile discussion in Drama and Lifestyle classes. A few points for possible follow-up work arising from the issues are also provided.
