The second text in a three-volume series in the "Interface Collection", based on the latest research into the racial theories which underlay the suffering of the Gypsies in the Holocaust and their fate in the death camps in the occupied countries of Hitler's Europe. This book deals with the persecution of the Romanies and Sinti in some of the countries occupied by Germany and its fascist allies. It includes chapters by specialist reseachers on the internment of Gypsies in France, the Gypsies in Italy under the Fascist dictatorship, the Gypsies in the Austrian Burgenland (including the camp at Lackenbach), the Bulgarian romanies, two internment camps for Gypsies in the Czech lands, Gypsies in Romania, and a final chapter on the massacre of the Gypsies in the Soviet Union and the Baltic States during the Nazi invasion.
