Timolol Maleate Ophthalmic Solution in the Treatment of Glaucoma (Selected papers from the Proceedings of the International Symposium on Glaucoma, XXIII International Congress of Ophthalmology, Kyoto, Japan, May 12, 1978)

Although various beta-adrenergic blockers are discussed for ophthalmic use, timolol maleate in ophthalmic solution is the only such drug available in the United States. The reference to the miligram for milligram potency of timolol and propranolol was beased on pre-clinical animal studies and reflects systemic not ophthalmic, use of both drugs.
