The Samuelson sampler

Preface : I first encountered Professor Paul Samuelson's introductory economics textbook, published by McGraw-Hill, while a student at the University of Minnesota. This was the second edition of 1951. The first version from which I taught was the 1955 third edition, at the University of Minnesota Duluth. ow involved in a teaching experience with the ninth edition, I can cheerfully admit to moderate seniority in the Paul Samuelson fan club. He is always a pleasure to read and re-read. Samuelson never lets you down. No matter what the topic, he is in continuous spirited communication with the reader.
