Slave Narratives and Autobiographies

This CD, with 34 books, collects first-hand accounts of life under slavery, including "Slave Narratives" compiled by the US Government during the depression, as part of the Federal Writers' Project, based on interviews with former slaves; and also autobiographies by former slaves. Intended for use with Windows PC and recent Macs (OS X), this CD contains the full text of dozens of books, in plain text form, organized for easy access.
