Description
Lone Pine 1975 was the first ever truly Grandmaster Swiss event ever held in the world. Twenty-two grandmasters from Europe, Asia and South America all converged on Lone Pine, California. No event like that had ever previously been held, especially since there were only 90 grandmasters in the world then and 39 of them were locked in the Soviet Union and could not easily get out. Here are all 220 games of this historic event, in both descriptive and algebraic notations. Many of the games are annotated by the players themselves. Included here are notes and game analysis by Larry Evans, Pal Benko, Samuel Reshevsky, Svetozar Gligoric, Ala Kushnir, David Levy, Florin Gheorghiu, Leonid Shamkovich, Istvan Bilek, Jude Acers, Alan Benson and many other famous players. Plus there are 43 photos from this historic event.
