Public Journalism Past and Future

Friedland uses four newspapers--The Wichita Eagle, The Charlotte Observer, The Virginian-Pilot, and the Colorado Springs Gazette--to critically examine public journalism's successes, failures, and future challenges. This work provides new insights into the important influences that values and organizational structure have on public journalism's sustainability--in the past and in the future.
