The Architecture of Arroyo Hondo Pueblo, New Mexico (Arroyo Hondo Archaeological Series)

This copiously illustrated volume describes for the first time the architecture of Arroyo Hondo Pueblo, one of the largest fourteenth century towns in the northern Rio Grande region. The authors interpret the ways rooms, kivas, and plazas were built and used, and they place Arroyo Hondo in its regional context by comparing its architecture with that of contemporaneous sites. A particularly important chapter reconstructs the growth and decline of the pueblo from the archaeological and tree-ring evidence.
