Present Tense: Writing and Art by Young Women

This is a terrific stew of poetry, fiction, essays, and visual art by more than 40 straight, gay, bisexual, and whatever girls and women of different races and classes born in the 1960's. The collection has many real gems, among them "Zine Goddess," Nomy Lamm's poem/rant/essay in which she states emphatically, "I'm glad I'm not my teenage dream." I'm glad we've got the writers--the generation--represented in this book to look forward to.
