Learning Centers for Young Children: To Be Built in Classrooms and Other Places Where Children Gather to Learn

Introduces the concept of and philosophy behind the learning centers approach. Each chapter focuses on one of seventeen different types of learning centers for young children. Drawings are offered to represent what centers might look like. Each chapter identifies educational value, materials commonly used, and discusses special aspects. Recommendations are offered and connections are made between concepts and practices. Experiential anecdotes are shared to show how the author used various centers in working with children from toddlers to primary grades.
