Baptism and Related Doctrines

There are few doctrines which have caused so much division and misunderstanding in the church as the doctrine of baptism. It is clear that the various Protestant denominations have understood baptism differently. What is not so clear, especially to laypersons, is that no doctrine can be considered independently of the theological system of which it is a part. It is the purpose of this book to show the consistent relationships that exist among the various doctrines that comprise Lutheran theology.
