Santo wakes up in one of the toilets of La Scala in Milan after being electrocuted by a faulty light switch. Santo is a successful manager, and has built his fortune on a mixture of personal ruthlessness and political skill, but he doesn't remember any of it: his memory of the previous twenty years of his life has disappeared.
