of Haines , Alaska Robert is 92 years old and working on his 2nd book This is biography of Charlie Anway, who hauled supplies over the frozen ice and snow of the Chilkat River to reach his mine before spring break up. A horticulturist, he later homesteaded in Haines, gardened, and developed a strain of luscious huge strawberries at the turn of the 20th century. Alaska's "Johnnie Appleseed," one of his Yellow Transparent apple trees still stands in front of the Sheldon Museum in Haines, AK
