This is a scholarly research book whose purpose is to inform the reader of the background and ideas that have gone into the search for life on mars. Much of the technical explanations have been confined to technical journals that seldom reach beyond those scientists involved in Martian studies. It is the author's intent to present the technical and mathematical models in a fashion the reader can understand so that the full picture for the search for water and life on mars is comprehensible.
