The Dame Family
Book Details
Description
Linnie Dame Frink is responsible for collecting and publishing the long-dormant, hard-to-read carbon copies of the above manuscripts. Her one chapter in the book adds additional historical research prior to the Dames English history.
The book is by no means a definitive work. It traces the family from John Dam's (one of the early spellings of the name) move to New England in 1633. An outline of the family tree moves from 1633 and into the 1900's where it primarily moves to the Southeastern United States.
A number of old pictures are included--primarily gleaned from early newspapers. The books also includes a color rendition of the Dame Coat of Arms as depicted in a drawing found in the British Museum entitled Coat of Arms of John Dame (c, 1591).
