"I found a lump." ...and so began our 9-month battle with breast cancer. We learned a lot about dealing with crisis, being brave, and keeping a positive attitude during our experience together, and we want to share what we learned with you. For example... We learned that the more you know about something, even if that something is scary, the less scary it is. That's why it's so important to learn as much as you can, as quickly as you can about your illness. We learned that laughter doesn't change anything, but it helps you feel better. There is nothing funny about cancer, but there IS humor in some of the situations you're in BECAUSE of the cancer. We learned how important it is to look forward to something to give you hope for the future.
