The author has enlivened her recipe collection with sixteen stories - many related to the book’s recipes - from her childhood in Corfu. The vignettes provide heartwarming glimpses into the lives of her family and their friends, and touch on the occupation of the island by the Italians and Germans in WWII. The book includes illustrations of Corfu from photographs taken by the author.
