All Praise Be to the Lord

Rhoda Weber Neer Brunk was born in Canada, the third daughter of the late Newton and Nellie Burkholder Weber. Because of her father's involvement in the ministry, the family moved from Canada to Fort Wayne, Indiana where Rhoda spent most of her growing-up years. Later on, the Weber family also lived in Springs, Pennsylvania, Harrisonburg, Virginia, and West Liberty, Ohio. Rhoda married Eugene Neer in October, 1947. They raised five children and lived in the West Liberty area for 53 years. Eugene died suddenly of an aneurysm in June of 2000. In August, 2000, Rhoda moved to Harrisonburg to be close to her daughters. There she renewed a friendship with George R. Brunk II which she and Eugene had maintained for nearly 50 years. This relationship eventually led to their marriage on May 12, 2001, which lasted until his death 11 1/2 months later. Since then, she has been involved in various activities including assisting in the Harrisonburg Gift & Thrift store.
