Description
Why walk the Camino de Santiago (or Way of St James), a 25-day pilgrimage across northern Spain, when you can put your feet up and read about it in a few afternoons? The Reluctant Pilgrim offers up for your pleasure a journey of incredible personal sacrifice. In an act of utterly unselfish authorship – other than how many books he might be able to sell – Paul Huschilt forfeits as few creature comforts as possible while undertaking a trek that pushes him beyond his limits and almost over the edge. The result is a series of entertaining misadventures on one of the world’s most beloved and sacred paths, and a gath- ering of life lessons along the way. Paul Huschilt was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada into a Roman Catholic family, where as the second youngest of eight kids, he learned to navigate large groups. Today, he is a professional speaker who performs comic re-enactments of conventions as well as unique keynotes on personal and organizational well- ness. Paul works in French, English and occasionally Japanese. While working in Japan, a Buddhist friend invited him to walk the Cadillac of Catholic pilgrimages known as the Camino. Paul said ‘Yes’ when ‘No’ would have avoided so much unnecessary human suffering ... and the rest is his story.
