In 1963 Jack Griffith brought an idea to the drawing board that was to become a milestone in high performance automobile history. He envisioned a powerful British-American hybrid sports car that would join Ford V-8 power with a lightweight TVR British fiberglass body design to become the Griffith motorcar.

Considered the car that could have unseated the Shelby AC Cobra as the king of the hill in the sports/muscle car era, the Griffith succumbed to pressures leveled by an unprecedented east coast-wide dock strike in 1964-65.
