Summer of Fury

On March 23, 2005 the City of Sanibel received an outstanding achievement award for public awareness at the National Hurricane Conference in New Orleans. The City was praised for its actions during and after Hurricane Charley and for its communication with the public. Sanibel was spotlighted as an example for other cities and towns to follow.
