Taking the Exercises to the World

This manual includes materials used by a small group of lay directors. It provides everything you need to help organize and run group meetings of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius (19th Annotation). Meeting agendas, prayers, sharing questions, meditations, forms, charts, applications, brochures, and instructions are included. Also, for each meeting, you’ll find a stated theme and purpose, handouts, ideas for setting the environment, and more. Even sample talks are included for reference. Topics follow themes taken from the appropriate Ignatian “week” in which the meeting falls. In no way should this manual be the end of the story. Consider it the beginning. If something doesn’t fit your style, or you think of a different idea, listen to the Spirit and try it.
