Welcome to Negril, Jamaica, famous for its white sand, beautiful sunsets, dramatic cliffs, seven miles of beaches, and wild parties! People travel to Jamaica in search of paradise and, indeed, find splendor. But what is it like to live in such beauty all the time? Throughout the pages of this small book, the reader steps into the lives of twelve Jamaican students and sees Jamaica through their eyes. Their words reveal a harsh reality that contrasts with the typical tourist perspective and reminds us to reflect on our own lives and preconceptions. The growth of each story presented in this book assisted eleven university students from the United States to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of Jamaican culture, and brings to our attention yet another magnificence of the Jamaican landscape- its people!
