One Hundred Child Development Tips: Insights and Suggestions from Montessori Teachers

Montessori education celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2007. In honor of the occasion, AMI Montessori teachers from across the United States contributed their thoughts and observations to develop a list of 100 parenting tips that reflect the core tenets of the Montessori pedagogy. Addressing conception to adulthood, the list was then supplemented with selected scientific research on child and cognitive development and published in One Hundred Child Development Tips: Insights and Suggestions from Montessori Teachers. The booklet is intended to be a clear and concise resource for parents seeking to raise joyful, focused, compassionate, creative, confident, and curious children using time-tested, research supported guidance on how to optimize a child s intellectual, emotional, physical, and moral development. The publication was originally distributed exclusively to attendees of the AMI Centenary Celebration in February 2007 and first offered to the broader Montessori world in August of that year.
