Description
To gain strength, most golfers have used a variety of weight-training programs. However, those program are not sport specific, and are therefore of limited value for the golfer—they are more detrimental than beneficial. Unfortunately, most golfers use bodybuilding-type exercises to gain strength then, for endurance they train like a marathon runner. Both bodybuilding and marathon running are slow-speed exercises or sports. Such athletes cannot perform at peak speed because they have trained at a slow pace. In other words, those types of exercises slow down the swing rather than speeding it up and recruiting the entire body to make your golf swing more fluid and powerful. With proper resistance or strength training, golfers can perform at their individual peak, particularly when exercises and training routines emulate golf movements. The fitness and sport specific, strength training programs described herein will: (1) Increase your drive distance 20-30 yards or more; (2) Help link mind with total body movement for a more dynamic, fluid, and powerful swing; (3) Enhance focus ability over longer periods; (4) Increase precision during tee-off and for the short game; (5) Increase bio-mechanical muscle recruitment efficiency for improved posture and a more powerful, better swing; and (6) Allow better club control at all times during play.
