Broken Silence

Poetry that is "simple, even childlike, and direct from the heart ... a perfect reflection of a gentle, sweet nature and a generous spirit." Sandra Claire never thought she could write anything, much less poetry, but a friend suggested she give it a try, and from that moment, she believed, a long silence within her was at last broken. She was amazed at how the words and rhymes flowed out of her in poems expressing her love of family and the world around her, and a profound, remarkably intimate relationship with God. She wrote by hand and made handwritten copies to give to her son and daughter as Christmas gifts. Occasionally she would cross-stitch a poem and have it framed for her granddaughters. By the time of her death in 2009, she had produced over seven hundred poems. This memorial collection contains a hundred specially selected by her children.
