The Human Head: A Correct Delineation of the Anatomy, Expressions, Features, Proportions and Positions of the Head and Face

This system of drawing the human head was designed by Prof. Louis Bail and builds on his system of Drawing Charts, which revolutionized the teaching of drawing in the mid nineteenth century. Like the Drawing Charts it teaches drawing of the head by building from a simple oval, applying features proportionately, then proceeding to develop character and expression. It formed the basis for most drawing books published since the time it was published, and is still a great place to start learning to draw the human form.
