My People's Freedom

My People's Freedom tells the autobiographical story of J H Bayliss Frederick through the character of young Baily Iron, the son of a progressive black tradesman, who lived with his family in a small Caribbean village during the 1920s and 30's. Written with authentic dialect and vivid description, the author compellingly articulates his personal experience of growing up on an island dominated by the wealth and socioeconomic power of expatriate estate owners. Readers of all ages will be inspired by this illuminating and poignant account of Baily's quest for an advanced education in order to overcome the barriers of poverty and racial disparity, one which he successfully attains.

About the Author: J H Bayliss Frederick was born in Pembroke, Tobago, West Indies in 1924. In 1956 he joined the Middle Temple Inn of Court in London, England, where he qualified as a barrister. Mr. Frederick maintains a law practice and is the founder of Saint Paul's Sanctuary, a retreat in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, West Indies.
