Love Has A Double Edge

Life has many twists and turns. Sometimes our journey is straight and it almost seems to be planned in some macabre way, almost you mightsay preordained. Others have a bumpier ride on their journey as life throws up all sorts of problems. These people cannot understand that our individual journeys in life constantly ebb and flow like a river journeying on to its inevitable end. People constantly ask the same question, Why me? Why not someone else? But the truth of the matter is that there are very few of us who journey life's highway without encountering some tragic drama, and most of them have to do with love. As we know, there are many forms of love hidden within our human form. Just as love's light burns bright, it can also flicker and dim. It comes and goes, constantly changing, almost chameleon-like. When we speak of losing a loved one, do we really lose that love or does the love that we felt for whom or what we have lost stay constant? Love for your parents, love for brothers, sisters, grandparents, special friends, even the love for pets or love for your favorite food. All these feelings stay bright as we meander the road of life. We bandy the word love around liberally, sometimes without thinking, but taking all these loves aside there is one love that motivates people to do the most unusual things. They turn their backs on others they love, give up fortune and fame, even empires, as history has told. This love is the love of desire and passion.
