Eden Autism Services Self-Care and Domestics Curriculum

This curriculum series reflects the collective experience of Eden faculty during the past 30 years of providing comprehensive, individualized services for children and adults with autism. Employing a hands-on approach, the series includes practical strategies with every teaching program provided, and each program has been successfully implemented in the lives of individuals and families served by Eden. The Self-Care Curriculum was created in order to address the specific needs of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders in this area. Whereas a typically developing student would learn many of the skills within this domain through incidental teaching opportunities, students with developmental disabilities, regardless of the domain, require a structured teaching approach that combines rote instruction and repetition. It is critical therefore, that skills in this area not be remanded solely
