Corrections In California: an Introduction to Probation, Institutions & Parole

This text is designed for college entry level classes in the study of California’s correctional system. It presents a detailed account of the history and current procedures in both adult and juvenile probation, in local jails, in the State’s prison system, and in state parole, both at the adult and juvenile levels. It is purposefully devoid of esoteric theories, laborious research studies, and meaningless statistics, but is replete with relevant information and supporting photographs, many of which were taken by the author over a period of many years.
