Workshop 'Til You Drop

Dashiell Rex Barker wants to live up to his name and what better way than to attend a workshop at the highly renowned Antioch Writers’ Workshop? Unfortunately, the bartender-cum-author puts the same effort into writing as he does into everything else in his life and quickly finds himself in over his head. Especially when the bodies start dropping and he’s the prime suspect.

The mayhem begins when Rex receives a less than favorable critique delivered by a Workshop celebrity, Dallas McGuire. McGuire, author of The Roach’s Dream, is more widely known for his romantic escapades and drug dealings than his writing skills. When he’s found dead in an alley—his skull bashed in with a beer bottle—the police discover that while many writers were angry at McGuire’s heavy handling of their manuscripts, Rex was the only one mad enough to attack him at the local meeting place, Ye Olde Trail Tavern.

Drugs, sex and murder – the workshop is certainly delivering more than was advertised. Can Rex and his longtime friend Angelica clear his name? Or will the Yellow Springs jail become more than just a weekend stay?
