Lingering Soulful Reflections

The idea and beginnings of this photographic journey of verse, emerged from our mutual love of nature. My unending fascination with the process, purpose, growth and spiritual evolution of life, naturally blended with the reflections from Brian's brilliant lens. By broadening our perspective through faith and mindful experience, we can be introduced to our inner authority. It is then possible to foster a trusting, growing, co-creating relationship with ourselves, our families, our communities, the world and the universe that we inhabit. The definition of the type of faith that I am referring to is best described by Wilfred Cantwell Smith in his book, "The Meaning and End to Religion." He states, "Faith then is a quality of human living. At its best, it has taken the form of serenity and courage and loyalty and service; a quiet confidence and joy which enable one to feel at home in the universe and to find meaning in the world and in one's own life, a meaning that is profound and ultimate, and is stable no matter what may happen to oneself at the level of the immediate event." Ultimately, we are where we are and can begin at that point to, "be" in our own lives. We can wake from our slumber and begin with the wide eyes of the child in us who has been waiting to be raised. Similar to the stages of human development, there are stages of faith development or simply, the process by which we develop the ability to see the broad perspective. The goal then is to live our lives in a way that living, meaning and believing become one. In a broad sense, this book, "Lingering...Soulful Reflections," is the first is a series that is meant as an example of what the first step, in that process, might look like. That is, pulling the external inward to begin defining beliefs and meaning, by relying on internal experience and Source wisdom as reflected by the soul. Judith Dancing
