North Cascades Beautiful: An Artist's View

For more than 40 years Roy Hughes has hiked in the North Cascades Mountains of Washington State. This award-winning artist has taken more than seven years to create a book of his artwork - an artist's tour - that includes more than 75 beautiful images of scenes from hikes ranging from the Mount Baker area in the north to Snoqualmie Pass in the south. Accompanying each piece of artwork is a written description of the scene - something interesting about its location, history, geography or other tidbit. From the comfort of your armchair you can visit these lovely settings and experience the beauty of the North Cascade Mountains. Roy served as artist-in-residence at Glacier National Park in Montana in 2005. His book of artwork drawn from this experience, 100 Beautiful Views of Glacier National Park, was published in 2009.
