Sun Touched Moon: a novel

It is 1941 in southern France and young American, Melany Bejalene is terrified of her attraction to German Major, Gunar von Holstein. When he makes certain suggestions, she rejects him, and Gunar has an epiphany; she is ein Kirche Madchen; a church girl, and indeed she is. They are two people from disparate backgrounds and warring nations, but love sews them together anyway, and now they must discover the value of this tremulous connection amidst a rapidly deteriorating situation or tear at this ribbon of slim feeling with their own hands.

Gunar must decide to remain at war or align himself with love, with Melany, as her burgeoning spiritual abilities enable her to offer truth up as the gift it is, in the form of a spontaneous life review to recalcitrant souls. Truth is justice, for Melany, for Gunar, for every character, because the complexity of one's life story is the ode that educates.

Sun Touched Moon is a flowing epic; 150,000 words. It is an Alternative History/Visionary Romance with a touch of Fantasy. it is a specific discussion of the mystery of the create, the agenda of the un-create and the blessing of mercy. It has a respectful appreciation of historical time and place, that leans sideways too, to espy our earth story from a different point of view.

"Gunar looked her in the eye and she could see him considering her, wondering about her and then something happened…it was a small thing for most people, but loomed large for plants and growing things. There was a break in the clouds and the sun streamed through the window; just this subtle shift in nature to nurture and something changed.

Something happened.

There was a soft feeling in the air now, a soft cushion encapsulating them both like a bubble...a bubble of light illuminating only the space containing this woman and man, and Melany stopped thinking every thought, save the directive to watch the light.

It was the light.

There was something...subtly astounding about how the sunlight was suddenly streaming through the window to fill the room. Golden light was gently gracing the counter top, softly dusting the buns and pastries and illuminating the secret life tucked inside every atom. Melany smiled. She looked at the faint dust motes floating in the golden light, at the minute bites of flour doing a cosmic dance and smiled. The air became soft between them, so soft...it eased the sharp edge of every hard word and hurt feeling.

Melany looked at her private stellar flea circus doing rolling tumbles in midair and Gunar von Holstein looked at her. Gunar watched the morning sunlight reach into Melany to find every secret place to be so clean and pure, it shone straight through her and back into the world as something better, as light made brighter.
