Knights on the Prairie: A History of Templary in Oklahoma

As early settlers moved into the Indian Territory they brought with them Freemasonry. The situation was the same when Oklahoma Territory was opened. Along with Freemasonry came the many trappings of fraternalism, one of those being the Knights Templar. As the two territories merged into one, so did the two Grand Commanderies of Knights Templar in the region. This is the story of the Grand Commandery of Oklahoma, and its sister the Grand Commandery of the Indian Territory. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this work will benefit the Oklahoma Knights Templar Holy Land Pilgrimage Fund.
