I understand their wrays will begin to be vacant very soon and they have contracts for several large steel ships. Mr. Ackerson. The Standifer had contract 503 for five vessels. It had originally a contract for 10 in addition to that. They have a 122209--19--Ot 2 9 new yard. They had 5 ways. They had a total of 15 ships under contract. We suspended 5 of those, leaving them 10 to complete. They will have ways vacant probably in July. The Chairman. Yes; that is my recollection. Mr. Ackerson. Yes; our records indicate July. They are one of the few that have put in a statement to us in accordance with our request at the time of the suspension, giving the exact state of affairs in the yard at the time the suspension took place. The first contract has not been disturbed. I do not believe they expected on the first contract to make all their amortization of yard, but on the second contract for a total of 15 ships I think they did. In suspending this we suspended quite a bit more than the usual percentage. We did it because at the time the suspension was made it did not appear from our records that we would disturb their yard to the extent we have since found they will be disturbed. Since they have put the case up to us we have come to an understanding with them that there will be 2 or 3 ships of those 5 reinstated. Senator Chamberlain. That will keep them busy how long?
