Ethyl nitrite is prepared by using sodium nitrite, 500 gm., sulphuric acid, sp. gr. 1.847, 220 cc, alcohol, sp. gr. 0.820, 550 cc, and water, 2,000 cc, yielding about 700 gm. of ethyl nitrite.
