Description

Excerpt from The Cyanide Process for the Extraction of Gold: And Its Practical Application on the Witwatersand Goldfields and Elsewhere

The continued success of the Cyanide Process for the Extraction of Gold, with the ever-increasing number of mines at which it is employed, has naturally led to a large increase in the number of people interested in the process, and hence the demand for a new and enlarged edition of this work.

Mr. Eissler, who is busily engaged in mining operations in Australia, could not himself undertake the task of revision, but as he has supplied the bulk of the new matter which has been incorporated in this edition, my task as editor has been comparatively an easy one. In the new matter which has thus been added will be found descriptions of the working of the Cyanide Process in other parts of the world besides the Witwatersrand gold fields - notably at the Gibraltar Cyanide Works, New South Wales, and at Deeble's Cyanide Works, Victoria.
